About Evan Hamilton

My name is Evan Hamilton. I love to bring people together. I’m privileged to get paid to find ways to create win-win situations for companies and customers.
“Customer experience” is a vague phrase, but that’s because customer journeys are messy, long, and circular. I’ve worked on every stage of this experience: helping customer onboard, growing their usage of a product, building their connection with the brand, and then harnessing their passion to promote the brand. The labels for this are endless and ever-changing: community, scaled customer success, customer engagement, customer education, advocacy, customer marketing, and of course customer experience.
The labels don’t matter. What matters is truly understanding your customers and building for them. If you do that, you’ll ultimately see success.
I’ve been lucky enough to lead this work at companies like HubSpot, Reddit, CMX, and more. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and still love waking up to do this work each and every day.
My second job is being a dad, and in my free time I make music. In my past lives, I co-founded a holiday called International Beer Day, led a modmaking group for the computer game called Myth II, and fronted a band called Monsters are not Myths.
